featherdown | [Interrupting Serebiiiiiiiiii~!]

[Serebii had been flying from one time to another, in the same forest for the third time since coming to Isshu, basking the forest in a light that Pokemon would notice but few humans would: the leaves looked much greener, the soil a more vivid shade of brown, and the sunlight shone in so much brighter. The sound that could be heard when a Serebii travelled, known as the voice of the forest, could be heard by everyone, even if not all recognized it for what it was.

It was something of a warning, to keep a playful Serebii from dragging unsuspecting (and, therefore, not quite willing) others from one time to another.

After witnessing another failed attempt by the same Kanto-bred trainer to make friends with an aloof Isshu boy, this particular Serebii felt saddened. She could tell when someone was a loner by nature, she could peek into his life, and she knew this boy also wanted friends, once! And this coldness was a front, she knew. She's seen enough to know!

It was sad that he how he put up walls, once a would-be friend finally came along...

Then, she had an idea! Just before the aloof boy took one step in the other direction to part ways, she flew down and plucked him off of the ground.]

W-what the...?! H-hey! [Like most people who've been scooped up from under their arms like a small child, before being lifted up, past the leaves and into the sky... he panicked, kicked, and pathetically reached for the ground!]

Biiii~~ rebiiii!

[Feeling like her little plan was working, Serebii happily slipped into a portal into another time, pulling the boy along with her!]

[ Once again Satoshi's attempt to get through to the Isshu male seemed to have failed. He didn't understand: why was he like this? Why did he block all of his attempts to try and befriend him?

Satoshi was frowning, prepared to simply watch his rival once again turn off to walk in the opposite direction with his hands shoved in his pockets. He was paying too much attention to completely hear the sound that Serebii makes when it travels, though Pikachu caught it and perked its ears.

Right before Shootie was plucked off the ground in front of them. ]

H-Hey wait!

[ He wasn't going to stand there and watch as Shootie gets flown off into another dimension. Not thinking twice Satoshi runs after Shootie and Serebii right into the portal of another time. ]

[Shootie was shocked by the sudden kidnapping, but it was heightened by Satoshi's decision to follow him in.] I-idiot! [Hissed between gritted teeth. Just why was he trying so hard to be his friend, even following him into this mess?

Serebii was surprised by the course of events, but she smiled happily and, in the blink of an eye, she and Shootie had vanished together, leaving behind only the camera which slipped from Shootie's grasp.

Satoshi and Pikachu, not guided quite so gently by Serebii, were dropped into this time... quite literally.

The strange light faded from the forest, which looked almost exactly the same... but the trees' bark was a great deal thinner, there are some shrubs that weren't there before... or rather, no longer are in the present time...

How confusing! Well, the most confusing sight would be that of a very small, very timid-looking little boy, taking cautious steps along the path, with familiarly green-tinted ashy blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and dressed in warm and neutral shades...]

Ahh! [He's startled by the suddenly appearing trainer and Pokemon! Not to mention the falling camera!]

[ Because it is just something that Satoshi would do. Even if it was extreme and risk taking he would do what he can to help someone. Even someone who refuses to become his friend.

But what he was not expecting was to be literally dropped from the sky with Pikachu when he followed Serebii and Shootie into the portal. Once Satoshi crash landed into the ground with Pikachu beside him he moaned and sat up before rubbing the back of his head. He then quickly confirms that his best friend was all right before looking around.

He catches sight of the small, yet oddly familiar boy, before noticing the camera falling from the sky. Quickly he picked himself up and dived for the camera to rescue it from colliding with the ground. After all, it wouldn't have been good if Shootie's camera broke, right?

Once the camera was safely in his arms and sighed in relief before looking back at the boy. He seemed to have startled him so he should probably apologize. ]

Sorry to startle you!

[ Hmmm ... Shootie doesn't seem to be around. Maybe he should ask the kid if he's seen him? But why does this kid seem so familiar all the same? ]

[The little boy gasped in surprise, taking a step back, before his look of surprise tinged with fear faded, becoming replaced with a look of awe.] Wow, mister, you caught it right out of the air!

Can you fly? Were you— were you flying just now?

[He balled his hands up, showering Satoshi with wide-eyed admiration. Well, any familiarity seems to have gone up in smoke as soon as he started talking. What a cheerful child!]

That was so cool! Don't apologize!

[And what a high voice too...]

[ Satoshi blinks because chuckling lightly and rubbing the back of his head. Well, this was embarrassing! ]

Ahahah well, not really! It's just that this camera is probably very special to someone I know, so I just had to save it. But thanks!

[ He then brightens up even more. He likes this kid's cheerfulness! ]

My name's Satoshi. This here is my best buddy Pikachu! Say, have you see anyone else 'round here?

Ca-me-ra? [He sounds it out, slowly, looking curious, before happily reaching out.] Can I try it? Promise I won't break it! Pinky swear.

[He holds up his pinky. Oh, but the older boy just introduced himself!]

It's nice to meet you, Mr. Satoshi... sir? And it's great to meet you too, Pikachu!

[He's not sure what to call him! He's older, but not that much bigger than him...]

You're my first... you and Pikachu are the only ones I ran into out here! I came to see the wild Shikijika like I did before, but I guess they ran away after you two flew in here!

[Yes, he's still convinced Satoshi and Pikachu are capable of flight.]

Yeah! It's a thing that takes pictures so you can remember all the memories behind them! [ He then thinks about it for a moment. This was Shootie's camera but ... the kid pinky swears. If he's really careful then it shouldn't be a problem, right? Coming to a conclusion Satoshi grins and wraps his pinky around the kid's. ] Okay, it's a promise!

[ He hands the camera over to the kid before chuckling. ]

You can just call me Satoshi!

[ Satoshi then blinks ]

You haven't? Huh...

[ Hmmm ... how strange. So this kid hasn't seen Shootie? So then where had he gone? He couldn't have completely disappeared, right? He laughs slightly when the kid says that they flew in here but he otherwise he was a little worried. He should really see about finding Shootie as quickly as possible! ]

It's a thing that helps you remember? I could use that, I forget a lotta things!
[He blushes and grins when Satoshi wraps his pinky around his. He'll be sure to be very careful. Pinky promises are unbreakable!]

Alright, thanks, Satoshi! [He's so happy, he's chirping!

Accepting the camera, he carefully brings it up, peers through the viewfinder, and looks left and right... then, he takes a step then two back... and focuses on Satoshi and Pikachu.]

What I definitely, absolutely need to remember is... my new friends who let me borrow this camera!

Maybe one day you can get your own camera. Then you can take lots of pictures! [ He then grins ]

[ He watches happily as the kid looks at the camera. When he stepped back Satoshi blinked before giving him another smile. Surely Shootie wouldn't mind if the kid took one picture with his camera, right? He laughs and extends his arm for Pikachu to climb onto his shoulder before looking at the kid again. ]

Sounds good! Ready when you are!

Yeah! I will. [He continued to smile, prepared to snap a picture of the two.] Someday, when I'm a trainer, I'll have a camera, so I can remember everything I need to beat him someday...!

[He pressued the button, the camera flashed and then he lowered the camera down. Yes, a blonde boy with a camera, dressed in shades of orange-red and black to boot!]

The Champion of the Isshu Region... [His chest puffed with pride.] Adeku-san!

[Spoken in that very same excited, high-pitched voice.]

[ This is uncanny! ]

Wow ... you have the same goal as the owner of that camera! You even kind of look like a younger version of him.

[ But this really couldn't be who he resembles. He's younger, and he's a lot happier than a certain rival of Satoshi's .... right? ]

[Now, the ever-present smile disappears as he looks confused, blinking curiously at him.]

... Satoshi?

What's his name?

[He's not really sure what's going on, but he's a very intuitive child! He's good at picking things up, even when he doesn't fully understand them, and he's picking up on Satoshi's uneasy feeling— and it's bothering him!

(Wasn't Shootie very perceptive too? He picked up quite easily on Mijumaru's problem...)]

[ Oh so the kid caught onto his uneasy feeling. Quite easily too. Satoshi was pretty easy to read. He smiles a little as he answer the kids question. There isn't any harm in doing so right? ]

His name is Shootie. I met him when I first got here to Isshu.

[ ( Shootie picked up on Mijumaru's problem so yeah. ) ]

[He blinked, losing his voice for the moment. Instead of saying anything, he simply stared.]

[ Satoshi looks completely stunned when Shootie speaks to again. ]

W-What?!

[ He has realized the resemblance and the similar dreams but... this kid was so nice! And the Shootie he knows... well... ]

What's going on here...

[ This was confusing in more ways than one! ]

[He doesn't really get it and seeing Satoshi look just as confused, instead of reassuring him (because he was older!), Shootie became worried— if an older kid didn't know what to make of the situation, what could a little kid like him do?

He clung to Satoshi's leg.]

... Satoshi, where did you meet this other Shootie?

[He frowned.] Where did you come from? There's something weird about this...

[He doesn't know much, but he gets that much! He moves one hand away, the one still holding the camera, to point up at the sky.] Is he back where you came from?

[ Satoshi was caught a little by surprise when Shootie clung to his leg. But he understood. He would be worried too if something like this happened, right?

He crosses his arms and thinks hard about this. ]

I met Shootie at Dr. Araragi's lab in Kanoko Town.

[ He furrows a brow ] I was in this area! But this place seems different than before. Maybe ...

[ Then it hit him ]

Ah! Right when he was about to leave something plucked him from the ground and flew off with him! I tried chasing it but it went through a portal and the next thing I knew I was falling from the sky! But what does this mean?

... b-but I'm Shootie from Kanoko Town. [That just spooked him even more.] And I'm the only Shootie there!

[He tries to think about this.]

Then, you're not from here. You and your Shootie came from, an, um, artinate dimension, maybe!

[ Aw man. This needs to stop being so confusing! ]

Artinate? [ ... oh. ] I guess it's possible that Shootie and I came from an alternate dimension.

[ Wait, he's been in a similar situation like this before he reached Hiun City. A Gothiruselle brought them into her memories. Maybe it was something like that? But it wasn't a Gothiruselle he saw take Shootie away. And they used a portal, which didn't happen before.

Something still needs to be off about this, but right not an alternate dimension sounds reasonable. ]

If I can figure out what Pokemon it was then maybe I can figure it out!

[ Sadly he only caught a quick glimpse of it before it flew into the portal. ]

[Hearing Satoshi have more of an idea of what could possibly be happening, Shootie calmed, looking a lot less frantic.]

Then, then, let's go find out more! Maybe we could find out something if we ask someone who knows more or— or look in a book or something!

[ The once confused Satoshi quickly turns into a determined Satoshi as he hears Shootie's suggestion. ]

Yeah, let's go! We're not going to figure anything out by standing here!
